It blocks mostly of the ads, but not all
It blocks mostly of the ads, but not all
So what the heck. Im still getting ads on FB up the Ying yang.
good, can block ad most of time, but some cant work.
Ive used this for over a year and originally rated it as 5 star. But the recent major upgrade has almost broken the app. It turns off regularly many times a day and also seems to interfere with the App Store. I used to set it and forget it, but checking every ten minutes is too much. Im looking for a new blocker.
After the latest update, AdBlock just does not work, ads are all over the place in browser (Safari, Chrome) and apps. Have tried reinstalling the app with VPN profile, disable / enable, restarting phone...Not helped much in all the cases. If you are reading - please stay away from updating the app! Update: did some more digging, earlier the VPN profile had the local IP address 127.0.0.1. With the update the Adblock Tunnel points to Google DNS 8.8.8.8 - opening the Ads address to be resolved and wide open to internet!!!!!
Developer/ Customers, found this to fix the kinks. Delete Adblock. Reinstall. Go back to Updates in AppStore and install the update. (Dont know why it wont install that version from the start). Open the app. Install the VPN profile. Then go back to the app and make sure in the settings that you have the option to show VPN turned ON. That way youll know its on. Make sure in your Settings app BOTH the Personal VPN and Dummy VPN are ON. Then in Notification Center, apply the widget. Every reboot Ive found you have to reenable Adblock. Instead of opening the app, bring the Adblock Widget into view. The Working Coggle will pop up in it and momentarily you will be connected again. This workaround will suffice till the developer is able to come up with a fix. If you tap and hold down on this review you can select Helpful. Maybe itll get it kicked up to the developer or pinned to the top or something. The End. Quit your complaining. Go home. Your drunk. *On a side note. Ive moved on to AdGuard Pro. Works through reboots. One app for features that block ads in Safari, system apps, plus has a feature to change DNS to use DNS Settings for blocking of adult sites. Doesnt have the widget though. But I can deal with it. It works. For now. Pretty cheap. I woke up and it make me a sandwich. From that moment on, I knew it was going to work for me. Recommend this app to all my dead relatives. Not the living, cause they dont have common sense enough to flip a switch. The dead though, they respected me enough to leave this world so it would be that much quieter. Eggsalad.
Hasnt blocked one pop-up or ad since I installed it last year. It does however block me from opening sponsored searches on google. So yeah - useless...
Ads now pour through all apps and browsers. This latest update ruined what was working perfectly. Please fix this.
Perfect
...on iPad Mini. Wont stay on. Had to switch to AdGuard.
The best
Unfortunately, the new update (v3.0.0) does not work properly on blocking-ads in apps. Even in SafariView, which is used by many apps, is, indeed, not working. Fortunately, I was able to downgrade to v2.8.2, but, many of the users won’t. New VPN must-be changed.
Works great on my phone doesnt work at all for iPad. Dont know how to feel about that.
I just bought this app for Spotify music and when I go on the advertisements are still there
Allows to many ads that competitors block such as Apple News, AdBlock Mobile give them a look before this app. Since the update this app disables itself multiple times an hour. Im browsing a web page its on click a link its off and ads every where. Same thing with apps one game its on then it turns off and ads show up. I really wish they would fix this as it stands now its the bottom of the barrel in performance and customer service. Tweets other than praise go ignored.
I think the on demand setup is/was better than this update. Ive been getting ads like crazy also. Doesnt seem to work well anymore. I even deleted and reinstalled app to see if it would help but nothing. Still getting a lot of ads through apps. Please fix...
Good tool in order to block ads but browsing is very slow ! Perhaps something about the detection of blocker by websites.
All things considered its a good app. It blocks about 75-80% of ads on apps and websites. Could be better but its a solid start. Im not too thrilled about the $1.99 price though...

Really convenient. Been using over 2 years now with consistent ad free and cleaner web pages.
